Under the supervision of Fr. Michael ANDERL - Stift Kapellmeister

Originally from Rosenheim, he entered the Cistercian convent of Stams in 2011. Before that he studied sacred music, conducting choir with Michael Gläser, Gregorian chant with Dr. Johannes Berchmans Göschl and organ with Harald Feller, the Munich Music School. In Stams Abbey, he is the director of the choir he has created, as well as the Paluselli orchestra that depends on it. He is the organist of the monastery. In parallel, he teaches organ and Gregorian chant at the diocesan school of sacred music.

Presentation of the choir

The adult mixed choir of Stams Abbey was founded in January 2014. Its repertoire is dedicated to both religious services and concerts. Since its creation, the number has doubled to 40 members from a region between Innsbruck and Landeck. They meet every two weeks in Stams Abbey. The repertoire contains both liturgical works from the abbey's archives and classical works of choral music.
